QUANTIFICATION OF CARBON EMISSIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENTIRE CECO2 VALUE CHAIN (QUANTIFICATION OF CARBON EMISSIONS)
Collaborative project coordinated by the Automotive Industry Cluster of Catalonia (CIAC)
Desafío del Proyecto
Industrial research project (or process innovation) for the design, development and validation in a controlled environment of a tool that allows companies in the automation sector to quantify the emissions associated with their entire value chain. Addressing a carbon footprint calculation methodology for the automotive sector and a technological platform that allows companies in this sector to quantify greenhouse gas emissions associated with the entire value chain, based on internationally recognized standards and with the possibility of including direct and indirect emissions associated with their services and production, including one of the most difficult categories to currently quantify, such as the acquisition of "upstream" products and services.
Durante diversas jornadas de trabajo se analizó las posibles emisiones con las empresas participantes:
Meleghy Automotive Barcelona SAU, PPT Technological Processes Technology SLU, Fundería Condals SA, Tratamientos y Acabados por Cataforesis SA y Relats SA
The results obtained have been highly promising. It has been possible to create a highly specific knowledge database for the automotive sector, contributing to the fight against climate change and meeting market demand with increasingly sustainable vehicles.
